 ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA FEMALE STUDENTS (ANFS) CONDEMN THE ABDUCTION OF FIVE(5) FEMALE STUDENT OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITY DUTSIN-MA KATSINA STATE





Being a press statement released on the sad abduction of five (5) female students of Federal University Dutsin-Ma Katsina state.

With a bittered heart, the Association of Nigeria Female Students (ANFS) received the ugly news of the abduction of five (5) of her colleagues who are students of Federal University Dutsin-Ma Katsina state on 4th October, 2023 at the wee hours of the day (middle of the night)



It is so crazy and totally unacceptable, the recent attacks on our campuses, in less than a month, two campuses have been invaded, few weeks ago it was Federal University Gusau Zamfara state and just yesterday the News of another heart rendering abduction of some female students in Katsina state hit the public space, let it be on record that the leadership of ANFS condemn this barbaric act in strong terms.

Academic environments before now are known for safety and decorum until these faceless men who are stack enemies of Nigeria students resulted into troubling the peace enjoyed on campuses.

It has finally reached that point where no student (male or female) feel safe on campus, how do we expect students to read, learn and assimilate when their safety is not guaranteed, leaving the sole aim of coming to school defeated.



Our resolve to be peaceful and law abiding students shouldn't be seen or taken for granted, who can guarantee the safety of our colleagues in the bush? Who knows if these innocent female students have been subjected to molestation in the hands of these evil men, when has it become a risk to be educated in Nigeria? Who will rescue us from these lawless and unpatriotic people who are hell bent on defacing our country? This crazy act is capable of discouraging students to go to school, some students and parents are yet to be relieved of their traumatic experiences in the hands of these terrorists, many have been killed and yet we seem to be living at the mercy of these people, are they now stronger than our government?

These issue should be looked into urgently before it degenerates.



The leadership of ANFS hereby call on all security agencies, community leaders, Youth and student bodies and Government at all levels to swing into action as a matter of urgency and ensure that our colleagues re-unite with us and their respective families in no distant time, untouched and unharmed.



Let it be known that our students are becoming restive and agitated as these wicked act is becoming a re-occuring decimal and a deliberate attempt to trouble Nigeria students.


On this note, we shall be left with no option than to permanently relocate the ANFS secretariat to Dutsin-Ma Katsina state on Monday, 9th October 2023 if our colleagues are not released before then.

ALHAJI MURITALA YAKUBU AJAKA WAS INDEED A STUDENT OF BAREWA COLLEGE.

Barewa College, Zaria Kaduna State has confirmed that Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka was indeed a student of the school.  Reaching to an earlier letter which the school was reported to have written in response to an enquiry to verify his history  in the school the Principal Mallam Alhassan Isyaku apologised that there was an inadvertent a mix up. The letter addressed to the Chairman of the Kogi East EldersForum, Chief Gabriel Aduku, said its earlier response was an error of omission.  "After additional investigation of our archieved records I confirm that the Muritala Yakubu with registration number 14667 was a student of the college from 1996 to 1998. However he did not sit for WAEC in 1998 in the college hence the absence of his name in the 1998 WAEC Gazette.  I apologise for the error and we are available should you need further clarification.
