THE ZONING FORMULA OF THE NASS LEADERSHIP AND MATTERS ARISING; Prince Atadegbe Yakubu A.
The Leadership of the APC rose from their meeting Wednesday and announced the zoning of National Assembly presiding officers of the 10th Assembly. The announcement didn't favour the North Central geopolitical zone cos we were completely excluded in the sharing formula.
Every geopolitical zone in the country is represented in the National Working Committee of the Party. National Chairman and others inclusive.

Every State is represented in the Federal Executive Council as encapsulated in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Therefore, if we have six(6) geopolitical zones in the country and we have six(6) major positions in the scheme of things, it is ONLY natural that every zone should take one(1) each.
For instance;
1)President - South West
2)Vice President - North East
3)Senate President - Zoned to the South South
4)Deputy Senate President - Zoned to the North West
5)Speaker - Zoned to the North West AGAIN
6)Deputy Speaker - Zoned to the South East
Are you not creating room for suspicion, confusion, tension, division and rancour in the polity?
Is there ANY geopolitical zone that has a SPECIAL STATUS ahead of another?
Nobody should come here and tell me that the North Central will get the position of SGF or somebody will argue that the North Central have the National Chairman of the Ruling Party. The argument doesn't hold water and cannot stand the test of time.
I can't even recall where and when did Asiwaju sat and promised to give the North Central SGF position. If the decision was taken behind the scene, we are not aware.
From all indication, the events of 2015 that led to the emergence of Sen Saraki as President of the Senate and Rt Hon Yakubu Dogara as Speaker may likely happen in the 10th National Assembly.
I see Betara forming a very strong and formidable alliance with Wase and Doguwa to get the support of other legislators to win the contest.
Though Sen Tinubu and Sen Adamu are veterans and seasoned political schemers but?
For the sake of posterity, I have aired my views. Whether the Party will do otherwise or not, let it be on record that I'm not in support of such decision. Afterall, minority will always have a say, but majority will always carry the day.
May God in His infinite mercy choose the best for NIGERIANS.
