 WE CONDEMN THE ATTACK ON Murtala Yakubu Ajaka THE CANDIDATE OF THE SDP ON LOKOJA ROAD TODAY 




Politics can be a tough world to navigate. The competition is fierce, the stakes are high, and tensions can run high. Unfortunately, in the race for Kogi State Governor, things recently took a dangerous turn. Muri Ajaka, a gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party, was attacked with guns shot at his convoy. 




The attack on Mr. Ajaka is an attack on the democratic process itself. All candidates for public office should have the ability to campaign and express their views without fear of violence or intimidation. Furthermore, the use of violence to suppress a fellow candidate's message is a dangerous and undemocratic tactic.



It is important to note that this incident is not simply a matter of one campaign operation acting out of line; it is reflective of a larger trend of political violence in Nigeria. In recent years, there have been numerous reports of attacks on politicians and their supporters. These incidents undermine public trust in democracy and perpetuate a cycle of violence. This is why it is crucial for all candidates, as well as political leaders, to make clear and unequivocal statements condemning violence and promoting peaceful campaigns.


On behalf of the the campaign team of Dr. Mubarak Abuche Musa, We call upon all politicians and candidates in Kogi State to take a stand against political violence. We must come together as a community to unequivocally denounce this attack and send a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated. Elections are a time for robust debate and competition, but this should never extend to violence or intimidation.


We reiterate, the attack on Muri Ajaka is a serious matter that requires our immediate attention. As fellow candidates and citizens of Nigeria, we must stand in solidarity with Mr. Muri Ajaka and use this incident as a call to action to denounce any actions of violence in our political sphere. We must all promote peaceful campaigns and ensure that democracy is not only upheld, but that it thrives in our society.

ALHAJI MURITALA YAKUBU AJAKA WAS INDEED A STUDENT OF BAREWA COLLEGE.

Barewa College, Zaria Kaduna State has confirmed that Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka was indeed a student of the school.  Reaching to an earlier letter which the school was reported to have written in response to an enquiry to verify his history  in the school the Principal Mallam Alhassan Isyaku apologised that there was an inadvertent a mix up. The letter addressed to the Chairman of the Kogi East EldersForum, Chief Gabriel Aduku, said its earlier response was an error of omission.  "After additional investigation of our archieved records I confirm that the Muritala Yakubu with registration number 14667 was a student of the college from 1996 to 1998.
