SDP YOUTH FORUM SLAMS TINUBU ADMINISTRATION FOR BEING "ENGINE OF MISERY" - URGES REAL SOLUTIONS

In a scathing critique of the first 12 months of the Tinubu administration, the SDP National Youth Consultative Forum has labeled it an "engine of misery and hopelessness" for Nigerians. This declaration came as the Forum highlighted what they perceive as superficial economic policies aimed at generating media attention more than actually addressing the challenges faced by ordinary citizens.

According to the Youth Forum, the economic policies enacted under President Tinubu's leadership seem to be geared towards creating a media frenzy rather than delivering substantial improvements to the lives of Nigerians. They accused the President of pronouncing policies to serve his ego, rather than tackling the root causes of the economic hardships plaguing the nation.

Furthermore, the SDP National Youth Consultative Forum called on President Tinubu to not simply act as a figurehead but to authentically embody the role of a leader by taking decisive action to alleviate the current hardship and insecurity gripping the country. They emphasized the urgent need for Tinubu to implement concrete and effective policies that offer relief to the suffering populace and restore hope for a better future.

The Forum expressed disappointment with the perceived token gestures such as sharing food items and conducting limited social investment programs, emphasizing that this approach is not a sustainable solution to the deep-seated challenges facing Nigeria. They urged the President to focus on systemic reform and strategic interventions that address the underlying issues causing poverty and insecurity in the country.

Amidst rising economic woes and security threats, the Forum stressed the importance of transparency, accountability, and meaningful engagement with the youth in policy formulation. They emphasized the need for the government to listen to the diverse voices of the Nigerian populace, especially the youth, in shaping policies that have a tangible and lasting impact on society.

As the country grapples with a wave of hardship and hopelessness, the SDP National Youth Consultative Forum's call for President Tinubu to step up, embrace true leadership, and address the pressing challenges facing Nigeria resonates as a poignant reminder of the responsibilities that accompany holding the highest office in the land.
